EU Officials Condemn US Action as ‘Intimidation’

Officials from Europe such as the French president accused the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, after the travel bans targeted individuals that were central to campaigns to enact laws governing US-based technology firms.

“For far too long, European activists have spearheaded organised efforts to coerce US companies to suppress US perspectives they disagree with,” wrote the US secretary of state online. “The current administration will no longer tolerate such actions of censorship beyond its borders.”
