Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state preliminary tests show the substance was likely human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for details.
An important representative said the incident left him without words and had to be solved rapidly.
"This event hits the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
